Terry & Mai – Gourmet Vegetarian Restaurant, San Gabriel, CA

Congratulations Terry and Mai!!! San Gabriel, California’s Gourmet Vegetarian Restaurant hosted a beautiful reception for the soon-to-be newlyweds. That’s right, they aren’t official yet! Terry and Mai will jetset tomorrow to Oahu where they will tie the knot in front of 30 close friends and family members.  Honoring Terry’s mother’s request, the couple chose a vegetarian restaurant to indulge guests in a celebration of good karma, recognizing the spirit of compassion for animals and providing a meal full of good energy.

ShutterBooth truly enjoyed our evening with the Lin-Nguyen clan.  What stood out most was the love and adoration Terry and Mai’s guests have for them. They are blessed to have such a genuine group of people surrounding them. Central to the Hawaiian culture is the Aloha Spirit, which can be loosely defined as a commitment to treat oneself and others with kindness, respect, and love.  Their friends and families personified this.

Mai looked stunning in a delicate white dress adorned with touches of lace and crystals next to her almost-hubby in a slender, black tuxedo with a traditional, open-ended, horseshoe fashion lei made of the spicy-scented, green maile stems and leaves.  She wore a white lei as well and carried a bouquet of velvety red roses, green orchids, and deep green tea leaves. The lively reception was photographed by Jean Tsai, a gifted photographer who works in tandem with her husband to make a great team! Guests had a blast and a party of their own in the SoCal ShutterBooth and created individual scrapbook pages for Terry and Mai.  Later a handful of lucky guests picked red money envelopes from a tree, as chosen winners of the scrapbook page contest thrown by the bride and groom.  Lots of love, lots of fun, and lots of good karma!  See the night in our event gallery.
