Bridal shows, are pretty much a necessity in this industry, and there is certainly no shortage of them on the horizon!
This weekend has a very large show at the Devos Place in Grand Rapids hosted by Bunny Tuxedos. Several thousand people are expected to come through, and many of the areas wedding-related vendors will all be in attendance. This show is known for the great deals that brides can take advantage of for their special events. Not done there though, we have another show this Sunday in Lansing. It’s a new event and should be a lot of fun.
Two weeks later brings us to the WMWA two-day event, also at the Devos Place in Grand Rapids. The combination of these several shows should hopefully kick-start the year off in a positive and successful way!
Last weekend, in an attempt to break into some newer markets, we participated in the Wiser Productions show in Battle Creek, Michigan. The event was held at the Kellogg Arena and featured not only over 90 vendors, but also several bridal fashion shows. This show gave me a chance to meet not only a few local vendors, but also many from the Battle Creek, and Kalamazoo area. The Holiday Inn of Battle Creek was one venue in particular that I was able to speak with for a bit. Sara Peck, the catering sales manager, and one of her associates had quite a time getting their pictures taken in the photobooth!
All in all, the event whould prove to be a positive foray into a new market.
