Suntory’s Shake N Spin Contest – La Isla Cantina, Hollywood, CA

SoCal ShutterBooth had a wild and crazy time with the photo booth at La Isla Cantina in celebration of  the Club Suntory Bartender Competition, “Shake N Spin.”  La Isla Cantina is a 21st century hot-spot serving Latin-influenced California Cuisine in a warm and stylish setting on the legendary Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California.  It was a night dedicated to LA’s best mixologists and DJs, with a new DJ spinning every hour and 8 bartenders competing with their best, original concoctions.  Featured DJs included Ryan Keller, Fembot, Lumis, Beau, and Rick Singer.

The rules were simple – Suntory Yamazaki Japanese Whiskey must be the base ingredient with all other ingredients in the creation chosen from standard items available in the common bar (in other words, nothing too fancy like kiwi juice or macerated tamarind with plum oil.)  The winning mixologist from each city, in a contest spanning across the United States,  was awarded an invitation to the final match of  Club Suntory’s Mixology Competition in Las Vegas in 2010.  We’ll all have to stay tuned to see what new creation the top mixologists whip up, but in the meantime check out the ShutterBooth fun in our event gallery!
