Joe Louis Greenway Partnership Summer Celebration!

The Joe Louis Greenway came alive this past August with the energy of families, music, laughter, and celebration to show off  its brand-new public park—hosted by the Joe Louis Greenway Partnership LLC. The event marked a major milestone in the revitalization of Detroit’s green spaces, and the community showed up in full force to explore, connect, and enjoy all the park has to offer. Children raced toward the stunning wooden playscape, climbing and sliding with joy while adults took advantage of the outdoor exercise equipment and strolled the scenic park trails. Adding to the family-friendly atmosphere was a petting zoo, where little ones could meet and interact with gentle animals—a hit among the youngest visitors. Just steps away, the park’s central gazebo turned into a vibrant dance hub, thanks to the electrifying tunes from Urban Organic’s DJ Selector Series, setting the perfect soundtrack for a sunny afternoon. And what’s a celebration without food? Guests lined up to indulge in delicious offerings from Detroit Original Seafood Truck, Jammin’ Caribbean Fusion, and JJ’s Custard Company—a trio of vendors that satisfied every craving, from savory to sweet. For families looking for extra fun, Sandy’s Land LLC offered colorful and creative face painting, transforming kids into butterflies, superheroes, and everything in between. Meanwhile, Rolling Video Games rolled in with their mobile gaming center, drawing a crowd of enthusiastic gamers. 

ShutterBooth provided a 360 Booth, where guests recorded slow-motion dance videos with friends and family. The best part—each video could be sent directly to their phones or email to relive the fun and share on social media.
