Girls With Sole

As a foster child herself, Liz Ferro, founder and Executive Director was adopted at the age of two and personally experienced sexual abuse as a child. Liz credits athletics and fitness for giving her the self-esteem and inner strength needed throughout her life to overcome difficult times and view herself and her body as purposeful and important.  Just as sports and fitness have changed her life, Girls With Sole has the lives of girls through sports and fitness. They feel that the positive impact of girls playing sports is endless. From health benefits and self-esteem to learning life skills such as leadership and team work, it is clear that all these girls really need is a sporting chance!

Girls With Sole is a non-profit organization whose mission is to use fitness and wellness to empower the minds, bodies and souls of girls who have experienced abuse. Focusing on healthy living, good nutrition, exercise and wellness will help girls make healthier choices in other parts of their lives – making a positive impact on our community as a whole.

On Thursday, September 30, we had an opportunity to offer some entertainment at their wine tasting at the Shoreby Club. We were really excited to be a part of something with such meaning behind it and are looking forward to another night together.
