If Valentine’s Day Were A Cupcake

It’s that time of year again. One week. One little week, and it’s Valentine’s Day. Dearly loved, and passionately loathed, that day of all days highlights the relationship statuses of Americans everywhere.

For some this is a happy time, filled with heart-shaped boxes of chocolates and obnoxiously large stuffed-animals.

For others, it’s a flashing pink and white pastel reminder that they’re spending February el solo. Still others, regardless of their “in a relationship” status, ignore the day all-together, chalking it up as a campy holiday created by the greeting card industry.

But we here at ShutterBooth beg to argue that if Valentine’s Day were a cupcake, everyone would love it. Because who doesn’t like cupcakes right? (Weird people, that’s who.)

But seriously, Valentine’s Day is about celebrating the sweetness of love, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be romantic love. Most of us, I dare say all of us, have someone or something we love. Celebrate it!  . . . Or at least celebrate the excess amounts of chocolate you’re probably eating just because it’s the month of February.

So if Valentine’s Day is usually one of your least favorite times of the year, over the next week filled with hearts and stars and rainbows, take some time to imagine the day as one big giant cupcake, and eat it up. <3
