Project Cuddle, 2010 Dinner by the Bay – Hilton Hotel, Long Beach, CA

Long Beach CA Hilton Photo Booth Project Cuddle Dinner by The BaySoCal ShutterBooth is proud and honored to announce that we will be taking part in the Project Cuddle fundraising event, 2010 Dinner by the Bay, on March 6, 2010 at the Long Beach Hilton in Long Beach, California.  This year, Dinner by the Bay will be hosted by a longtime friend of Project Cuddle, John Stamos, who is the National Spokesman for the organization. Guests will spend the evening dining, dancing, taking turns in the ShutterBooth photo booth, and most importantly saving lives. Set against the backdrop of the Long Beach skyline, the Long Beach Hilton is the perfect place to host this annual event.

With a fun-filled Aloha theme, we’re sure to see some spirited hawaiian clothing.  The Surf City All-Stars, a crowd favorite, will be taking over the stage as in years past.  The evening kicks off with a silent auction full of gift baskets, weekend getaways, spa packages, dinner/hotel gift certificates, and tons of other gifts for men, women, and a large assortment of baby items. All proceeds Long Beach CA Hilton Photo Booth Project Cuddle 2010 Dinner by the Baybenefit Project Cuddle and their life-saving cause of stopping baby abandonment.

Since it’s inception in 1996, Project Cuddle has saved over 665 babies from the fate of abandonment, or worse. All of this is the awe-inspiring result of one woman’s crusade to help prevent infants from being abandoned.  Tragically, babies are being abandoned across the nation on a daily basis. With a commitment to ending baby abandonment, Project Cuddle provides a future for unwanted, abandoned, or drug-exposed babies and a safe haven for frightened mothers to turn to in crisis.  Our photo booth is ready to put the FUN in FUNdraising to help such a loving, noble cause.  Stay tuned for the event gallery.

ISES & ABC Luncheon – Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, CA

IMG_0098ISES
Dodger

Dodger Stadium hosted the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) and International Special Events Society (ISES) luncheon for the greater LA area chapters’ February mixer. It was a great opportunity to meet vendors from all parts of the event planning world, get a glimpse into their minds, and to bounce ideas around.  We dined in the Stadium Club overlooking the ballpark, and in true Dodger Blue fashion the day was complete with a stadium tour, lunch by Levy Restaurants, Four Seasons Catering, and cake by Rossmoor Pastries (whose injected cupcakes are divine by the way).

We met some ShutterTastic people: Leonard Neil Productions (a special event company), Steve Muchnij of 11H Entertainment, Bette Bloom of the Elan Hotel, Marissa Shaffer of Bliss Makeup Artistry, Christine Dellosso of LA Limousine, Yogi Patel of Sheer Romance (wedding planning company), Nutan Shah of Elegant Events by Nutan, Eileen Daley of Gourmet Celebrations, Alex Moreno of Creative Handbook (#1 entertainment resource), Mario Rocha – West Coast Representative of The Three Waiters (singing group), Dahlia Wexler – President of Designer Specialty Linens, and DJ Maxx (Matthew Beaumont) of Celebrations Mobile DJ Service.

Wherever we go and share about SoCal ShutterBooth and the exceptional photo booth fun we provide, we hear how original and new the concept is.  Photo booths are all the rage, but still remain a newbie in the event world.  Just when we think we’ve heard of everything to make an event magical, more new ideas pop up.  11H Entertainment, mentioned above, focuses their music services on creating emotion with the crowd by offering A-list musicians, DJs, and emcees in an original experience called Infusion Xperience where the DJ spins tunes enhanced by live musicians.  You get the best of both worlds!   The Three Waiters is one of the coolest ideas we’ve seen, and is yet another original.  They are internationally acclaimed singers and performers, who disguised as waiters, act as though they are part of the event staff.  At some point during the event they spontaneously break out into song, surprising guests and catching them off guard.  Their reviews are off the charts and the idea is so fresh!   We learn something new every day.  Thanks ABC and ISES!  We look forward to the March events.

Chris & Madeline – Coco Palm Restaurant, Pomona, CA

P1060333scrapbook

CakeDays before Chris and Madeline’s wedding rain was popping in and out of the forecast, but as luck would have it, these lovebirds were blessed with a typical southern California day full of sunshine at 80 degrees! After a traditional church ceremony, guests began to arrive at Coco Palm Restaurant in Pomona, California for Chris and Madeline’s reception.

Coco Palm Restaurant is perched high atop a hill full of towering palm trees that can be seen from miles away, overlooking the twinkling lights of the San Gabriel Valley. A gorgeous pink and orange sunset painted the sky as guests got seated for the grand entrance in a room lined with windows overlooking the view.

SoCal ShutterBooth set up the photo booth on a large patio outside the reception. The wedding party wore black, white, and a deep pink color making for some pretty photo strips in the photo booth. One minute, guests had a blast dancing to music played by Tino Galvez of Thee Original Sounds and the next minute, posing for fun photos and signing Chris and Madeline’s ShutterBooth scrapbook. Matt Morgan Photography caught the evening on film. Beautiful night! See it in our ShutterYou event gallery.

Caroline’s 13th Birthday – Huntington Beach, CA

Caroline turned 13 with a bang!  Her gypsy-themed birthday party was held at her home-sweet-home in Huntington Beach, California.  All the kiddos gnawed on Pick Up Stix catering and bright-colored, homemade cupcakes frosted in orange, blue, green, red and yellow.  YUM!   On the outside patio they all danced to a custom music mix on the iPod under a canopy of colorful globe lights matching the cupcakes colors.  The gypsy whimsy was tied together with a deck of Gypsy Oracle Cards – a fortune-telling, guidance, and wisdom adventure!  Last but certainly not least, was the SoCal ShutterBooth photo booth where they partied all evening long posing and laughing for the camera.  Kids just wanna’ have FUN!  See it all in our ShutterYou event gallery.

Rick & Tasha – Ontario Doubletree Hotel, CA

CakeScrapbookWhat’s lavender, purple, has a two-seater bicycle, and an authentic mariachi ensemble? Rick and Tasha’s wedding reception! The college sweethearts celebrated their marriage with friends and family at the Ontario Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, California. San Martin Mariachi was one of the best mariachi groups we’ve heard so far. They serenaded Rick, Tasha, and their guests from the beginning of the night throughout dinner. After dinner, the DJ took over and this wedding became one huge dance party. They were a bunch of dancing machines!

Sweetheart TableWhat’s a two-seater bicycle got to do with it? Tasha’s aunt surprised them with a custom-made, two-seater bike.  As a little girl, Tasha used to go around singing “Bicycle Built For Two.” The DJ played this song as they rolled the bicycle onto the dance floor. This was a very heartfelt moment! The SoCal ShutterBooth photo booth provided great entertainment, from the children to the grandparents alike. Check out all the smile we turned out in our ShutterYou event gallery.

Billy & Nichole – Hilton LAX, Los Angeles, CA

photos-full-f4f7dbfe5b54b2492bd1c4ac61ea3545_5.jpg-ratio-50x.5SoCal ShutterBooth was honored to be a part of Billy and Nichole’s wedding at the Hilton LAX in Los Angeles, California.  The photo booth was cranking for 6 hours!  Their navy blue and yellow theme came from Nichole’s love of honeybees. Little honeybees were in their wedding logo and guests were given blue jars of honey as favors. Centerpieces and bouquets, by Downtown Flowers, were full of vibrant yellow flowers and touches of blueberries.  The reception was held in the International Ballroom, where thousands of crystals hung from the ceiling chandeliers.  GOYO 2000 tied taffeta, blue ribbons around each chair and their 4-tier wedding cake, by Torrance Bakery, was white with fondant navy blue ribbon accented by flowers on top and down the side. Micaela Bensko of Bensko Photography andP1060260Ashley Thayer Photography, videographer, captured Billy and Nichole’s night on film. Cesar Elas of DJ Music Unlimited kept everyone dancing until 1am.  All of this came together beautifully with the help of  Marlene Gutierrez, event planner of I Do Weddings & Events. We wish Billy and Nichole a lifetime of love!  See all the fun their guests had in the photo booth in our ShutterYou event gallery.

Brea Bridal Show – Jan 2010, Brea Community Center, CA

Brea Bridal Show breabridalshow

Brides, grooms, parents, and friends came to the Brea Bridal Show in Brea, California to shop and compare a variety of vendors including caterers, DJ’s, reception sites, bridal registries, event coordinators, florists, formal wear, travel representatives, photographers and more. They were able to sample foods, get ideas for their wedding and reception, and see the work of the vendors. Everyone who stopped by the SoCal ShutterBooth photo booth saw lots of cool ideas to make their wedding day unique, including our creative save the date magnets, personalized scrapbook/guest books, bookmark guest favors, acrylic frame table cards, and of course….our elegant photo booth!  Brides and grooms love dressing up in our boas, veils, hats, and tiaras to strike a pose and see what the ShutterBooth experience is all about.

When brides and grooms come to bridal shows, there are many things they expect to see: photographers, florists, invitations, cakes, and DJ’s. Photo booths, although wildly popular, are still a new concept to most and we love to see the excitement in their eyes as they try it for the first time and imagine the fun they can have at their wedding. There is nothing quite like a ShutterBooth photo booth to capture the spontaneity of the moment at a wedding.

The Brea Bridal Show attracts top-notch local vendors and some of our favorites this year are Miguel Pola Photography, The Twisted Vine Wine Bar & Shop, The Brownstone Cafe, Frati Gelato Cafe, Bock Orthodontics, and Empora Floral Artistry.  Happy planning to all the brides and grooms we met!  Visit our ShutterYou event gallery to see the fun photos.

Kermit & Tamara – Ontario Doubletree Hotel, CA

Kermit and Tamara’s reception was held at the Ontario Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, California and it was full of heartfelt toasts and moments. Surrounded by tons of close relatives, friends, and a large circle of church family the newly married couple was smiles and giggles all night.  It was no different for their guests as they hopped in the SoCal ShutterBooth photo Tamarabooth over and over again!  Tiffany blue lighting lit up the room, complimented by blue chair sashes and centerpieces of manzanita branches adorned with white dendrobium orchids, candles, and vases filled with blue, colored water. The D’Jay Company spun tunes and the party hit the dance floor. Congrats Kermit and Tamara!  You can see the photos and all the love in our ShutterYou event gallery.

Garett & Dominique’s Wedding – Town Center Hall, Santa Fe Springs, CA

Logobride & bridesmaid

Congrats Garett and Dominique!!!  SoCal ShutterBooth had fun taking part in this special occasion at the Santa Fe Springs Town Center Hall.  With lots of personal touches, the couple was lucky enough to have a groovin’ DJ and  photographer within their circle of friends.  The bride’s company, Delectable Desserts, made a yummy 6-tier cupcake tower full of cupcakes that were to die for, frosted in white with pink crystal sprinkles. The tables and flowers were accented with pinks as well. Dinner was catered by Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ, known for their delicious ribs, tri-tip, original sauces, and southern sides.  The food was mouth-watering! Garett and Dominique love Lucille’s Restaurant and, bless their hearts, resisted dining there for an entire year before their wedding to make it truly special on their big day.  If you’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting Lucille’s food, that takes some serious dedication!   The photo booth was sheer entertainment and guests had fun taking their turn right up until the last minute.  You can see it all in our ShutterYou event gallery!
