DSAOC Annual Red Carpet Ball – Doubletree Hotel, Santa Ana, CA

One of the most rewarding events yet!  The Down Syndrome Association of Orange County (DSAOC) put on their annual Red Carpet Ball in Santa Ana, California at the Doubletree Hotel.  The Alice in Wonderland theme made for a colorful occasion that the teenagers and young adults loved!  Balloons galore in bright colors, different shapes, sizes, and patterns: swirls, polka dots, and stars.  Super-size Alice in Wonderland characters decorated the ballroom walls and the classic Alice in Wonderland movie was projected on a wall all evening long.  The tables were set with bright yellow cloth napkins folded like birds, colorful paper pom centerpieces, and homemade cookies frosted like pink crowns, teacups with butterflies, spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs to name a few. During a plated dinner, everyone sat with their dates, dressed to the nines in suits, ties, and prom dresses.

The activities kept everyone busy, but most popular of all was dancing, dancing, and more dancing!!!  From the moment the music started, played by DJ Will Power, they went wild. The crowd favorites were Michael Jackson and Britney Spears! Lots of lovely volunteers spent the evening mingling with kids as they took their turns in the ShutterBooth photo booth with crazy props and lots of laughs.  They were also treated to prom-style photos against a gold and burgundy, regal backdrop. Sean Rosenthal, of Within A Dream Photography, provided his stellar photography skills and services for the evening. This was quite the party and was nothing short of happy! We loved it and everyone loved the photo booth.  It was a hit ~ almost as much as the dance floor!
