Jason and Sarah had the best New Year’s Eve party ever by throwing a wedding ~ their wedding!  Talk about a romantic way to ring in 2010. They began the new decade as husband and wife with a bang at the luxurious US Grant Hotel in the famous Gaslamp District in San Diego, California.  The reception was held in the Crystal Ballroom, a venue that boasts travertine flooring, embellished European plasterwork, and a hand-painted ceiling.  The room sparkles with four decadent Czechoslovakian Crystal chandeliers and a warm fireplace.  It was nothing short of majestic!  Gold, silver, and white covered the room from linens, to florals, the candles, and tabletop decor. Karen Tran Florals created stunning floral centerpieces exploding with strands of crystals, white calla lillies, various types of orchids, and roses.  Before the reception there was a brilliant ice sculpture surrounded by champagne, and as guests sipped on that they were also treated to sushi, shrimp, and cheese and crackers.

After dinner, it was time for the par-tay in the Celestial Ballroom, a huge room with vaulted ceilings full of archways lacquered in metallic blues and accented by hand blown Italian chandeliers! DJ Justin Kanoya kept the beat going all night long as guests munched on fun food like sliders, relaxed on swanky lounge furniture, and took turns in the SoCal ShutterBooth photo booth. Colorful New Year’s Eve props like hats, blowers, and boas rounded out the party and as the countdown began, the clock struck midnight, and the New Year rang in. This fun, lavish affair was put together by none other than San Diego’s premier wedding coordinator, Emiley Smiley, of Emiley Smiley Fine Weddings & Soirees who is known for her ability to create elaborate events, full of personal touches, and elegant glam.
