4zero1.com Hosts 10th Annual Giovanni Fashion Concert
– Posted on June 9th, 2010 by rhodeislandWhile cacophonous sounds of slot machines ripped through the recycled casino air, harmonious voices and rhythmic beats began to sooth my sore eardrums. There’s something so captivating about live talent out there on stage, performing under the spotlight, exuding confidence, fire and passion under the gaze of 2200+ sets of eyes.
On Sunday, May 23rd, ShutterBooth RI attended the 10th Annual Giovanni Fashion Concert at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, RI. And what an event it was! With over 2200 tickets sold, this event was heralded as the largest fashion show in Rhode Island’s history! We had such a blast at this event and got to meet so many great people. We even saw some friends from past events that were so excited to see us again. What better way to advertise your product/service than by showcasing it to thousands of people and giving them the chance to take it for a “test drive?”
Hundreds of people took part in the ShutterBooth Experience that night, and thanks to www.4zero1.com, hopefully they’ll spread the word to hundreds, even thousands more!
We’d like to thank everyone who attended the 10th Annual Giovanni Fashion Concert! ShutterBooth Rhode Island would especially like to thank Ed Brady, Founder & Partner of 4zero1 Entertainment Group, for putting together and promoting such a great event!

Naty & Trevo @ Ocean Cliff
– Posted on May 27th, 2010 by rhodeisland
Naty & Trevo? That’s right…we’re not just on a first name basis…we’re on a nickname basis! These two crazy kids have been friends of ShutterBooth RI since well before ShutterBooth RI even existed. Since the days we roamed the halls of Western Hills Middle School and Cranston West High School together. Those were days huh? Fun, innocent, and as “awkward” as teenagers can be! If we only had ShutterBooth established back then to capture so many of those great memories…
Anyway, I digress. Back to Naty & Trevo (Natalie & Trevor, for those wondering). Yea, so we all went to school together back in the day. Now, 10-12 years later, we’re celebrating the beautiful wedding ceremony of two high school sweethearts! Wait, they didn’t date in high school? They barely talked in high school? Interesting. Didn’t you guys live just a couple miles apart? And you’re telling me there was no love interest growing up?
Yup. That’s what they tell me. Kind of amazing really. Two beautiful people, that lived so close to each other and went to the same high school, but fell in love in Boston about 6 years later! Life is pretty funny sometimes.
And because of Natalie & Trevor, we here at ShutterBooth RI got to showcase our photo booth to so many close friends all at the same time. What an incredible night Saturday, May 8th turned out to be!
I woke up that morning to the sound of thunder, lightning and some of the hardest rain I’ve ever heard in my life. Intermittent periods of flash flooding in Rhode Island (just what we needed a few weeks after the worst floods in our state’s history) gave the potential for a real bummer of a wedding day.
The show must go on, however, so we packed up our booth, props, suits and dresses and made our way down to Ocean Cliff in Newport, RI for a 6:30 pm ceremony. Just like it was scripted for a movie, as we’re driving over the Newport Bridge, the rain stopped, the clouds burnt off and the sun began to shine as brightly as it had in weeks! What was once one of the most treacherous mornings and afternoons I’ve ever seen was quickly turning into an absolutely breathtaking and magnificent evening.
As the sun set, we stared at the backdrop of tall cliffs, crashing waves and two great people about to enter into a lifetime of love and commitment. It was truly an amazing sight…and the beginning of a night a great food, tons of fun, plenty of drinks, poetic speeches and ShutterBooth!
Judging by the quantity and quality of the pictures taken, we’re sure everyone had a blast! We’ve heard stories that there were even some doubters in the bunch beforehand…but after they had an opportunity to take part in the ShutterBooth experience, all doubt was erased. Now, that’s what we like to hear people!
We love ShutterBooth, of course. We wouldn’t have opened up the RI branch if we didn’t truly believe in its awesomeness. It’s nice to get validation from our clients though too.
Thanks to Natalie & Trevor, and to all others that attended too! Spread the word so more people can “capture the fun.”
Naty & Trevo…congratulations and best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous future together!
Wishes Do Come True!
– Posted on May 27th, 2010 by rhodeisland
Well, it’s been awhile since we last updated this blog, so we apologize to our readers (yes, we actually have readers out there…and we were very excited to see that!). If you keep reading, we’ll do our best to update this blog at least after every event, if not more often!
Anyway, let’s get down to business. In our business, most of our events are hired events. But, a few times each year, we also hook up with some GREAT charities out there and donate our ShutterBooth services for a great cause! And that’s just what we did on Friday night, April 30th at the Venus de Milo, for A Wish Come True, Inc.
“A Wish Come True, Inc. is a local nonprofit organization founded in 1982 that grants wishes to medically qualified children ages 3 through 18, who have a life-threatening illness and live in Rhode Island and areas of southeastern Massachusetts. Our list of wishes continues to grow – but with the help of many individuals like you, and with help from our friends in the business community, we continue to make so many children’s wishes come true…”
As this was our first time participating in the annual benefit dinner for A Wish Come True, Inc., we had no idea what to expect. Rosemary Bowers, Founder and Executive Director, saw us at a recent bridal show, loved our product, and asked if we could donate our photo booth for this special event. After some brief research on the organization, our decision was a no-brainer. We exchanged emails with Rosemary for a few weeks to gather all the details…the more we talked, the more excited we got for the Disney-themed dinner dance! Who doesn’t get excited when talking about Disney World and Disney characters?
As we saw that night, the Disney theme sure brought out the kid in all of us! It was so great to see so many kids and their families enjoying themselves and helping out a good cause; all while partying, singing, dancing and taking pictures in our ShutterBooth with the Disney characters!
As we told Rosemary that night…we will gladly donate our booth and services again next year. You should come join us!
Check out www.awish.org for all necessary details and ways you can be a part of this special organization.

ShutterBooth RI “Lends-A-Hand”
– Posted on March 22nd, 2010 by rhodeislandOn Saturday, March 6, ShutterBooth RI donated their time and services for a great cause: The Lend-A-Hand Therapeutic Riding Foundation. We donated a ShutterBooth for 3 hours for their Annual Benefit Dinner at the Alpine Country Club. And what a turnout there was! Over 225 people came to support this great organization!
All proceeds from the night went to benefit the great work done by The Lend-A-Hand Therapeutic Riding Foundation of Rhode Island.
Check out their website: http://lendahandri.org/ for more information.
Here is a little more about the charity itself:
“Therapeutic riding (also known as Equine Assisted Activity or Adaptive Riding) is used to improve the balance, coordination, focus, independence, confidence, motor and social skills. Building a relationship with an animal is very rewarding in many aspects. For an individual with an emotional, social or psychological challenges, the trust and loyalty of an animal demonstrates to the student how important they are and then they may extend these attributes to personal relationships. Horses also help people feel in control of their situation because there is a direct correlation between action and reaction. Riding empowers the person and enables the rider to connect on a personal level without feeling the pressure of social situations. The unpredictable nature of animals also creates a real-life situation in which students may confront their fears and accept situations beyond their control.
It is our philosophy to provide our services in a safe, caring, natural farm environment, and to treat our students and our horses with the compassion and understanding needed to accomplish any given goal as a team. Our program provides teams that consist of physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, riding instructors, trained volunteers, clients, and horses.”
ShutterBooth Rhode Island would like to thank Larry Moses and ALL those involved over at Lend-A-Hand for letting us be part of their special day!
It was great to see so many friends and also make many new ones! The ShutterBooth was truly a hit, as evident by the nearly 300 photos we snapped that night!!
We can’t wait until next year!
Keep up the great work! See you in 2011!
