Pioneer High School Prom

PHS

Pioneer High School, of Ann Arbor, held their Prom at Eastern Michigan University‘s Ballroom.  An orchestra was outside the ballroom, playing as the guests approached the dance.

The event had ice sculptures, exotic flowers and a waterfall as part of the decor that followed a Mayan theme.  Black and gold was used throughout the room, including the table settings!

Ocean blue lit walls set the mood.  The DJ was surrounded by a Mayan temple and palm trees, while a disco ball (moon) hung above the dancing student body.   This Prom was a such a huge hit that it made AnnArbor.com, and ShutterBooth was the cover photo!

Andrea and Adam

2013.05.11.21.11.59.3 (2)

Weber’s in Ann Arbor hosted an elegant reception for Andrea and Adam.  The entire evening took place in the venue’s Grand Ballroom, which was decked out in a black and red theme.

Each table had a three tea light candles as centerpieces, surrounded by rose petals and personalized Hershey Kisses.  The couple continued to represent their sweet tooth, as each guest was welcomed with a “Adam and Andrea” shot glass filled with M&Ms.  Oh, did I mention the pretzel sticks, brownies, marshmallows and cookies that circled the chocolate fountain?  Yeah, they had one of those.

Mike Staff Productions supplied the music and photographers, while ShutterBooth remained very busy all night long!  There were many attempts to break the all-time record (17 people) inside the booth, but nobody succeeded.  However, trying is the most fun part!  And of course, Andrea and Adam already succeeded in the most important challenge – finding true love.

Wish Upon a Wedding

Andy and Jennifer Robins were truly proud to be the ShutterBooth representatives at Party at the Port last Friday.  It was a beautifully planned event by Infinity and Ovation Yacht Charters and Wish Upon a Wedding.

They met a lot of incredible people from the Waterview Loft/Continental Catering.  They also spent time chatting with old friends from Star Trax and JD Entertainment.  They munched on some fantastic food, sipped some beverages from the many open bars, mingled throughout the venue and yacht made available to guests, and even showed off some of their awful dance moves.  The party had a “nautical chic” theme, and the guests looked the part!

It was an amazing time, but mostly because of the cause.  All proceeds went directly to Wish Upon a Wedding, which provides free-of-charge weddings, allowing couples facing serious life-altering circumstances to concentrate on the issues affecting their lives.  The President of the non-profit gave a touching speech, and then introduced the first Bride-to-Be with their organization.  The bride and her fiance came to the stage, and made everyone realize how lucky people really are to find their true love.  The entire evening was inspirational.

Megan and John

Landis

Megan and John had an outstanding turnout for their celebration of love.  The Lafayette Grande held both, their wedding ceremony and reception.  This historic building (which has had generations of weddings) was the perfect venue for a couple to share their vows with each other.

During the ceremony, Megan and John “tied the knot” (literally).  Since the groom played hockey, it only made sense to have the entire team stood up in the wedding (one for all, and all for one – right?).  For the grand entrance into the reception, these men were introduced by their jersey numbers.  The guests were having a great time with it!

Mike Staff Productions was there to get the crowd on the dance floor, and many never left it!  There happened to be a lot of line dancing, and rumor had it that “Achy Breaky Heart” made an appearance.  It was obvious that Megan and John have some very close friends, who were there to support them on this very special day – and help ShutterBooth catch some fantastic moments!

Heather and Victor

Beacon Hill, in Commerce Township, was decorated with top-notch style as Heather and Victor celebrated their love for each other.  Black, white, and grey led the theme of colors.  They were represented on the tables, cake, and the incredible bridesmaid dresses.

As guests arrived to the welcome table, they were able to admire the large board placed out with a chronological list of event from the couple’s “Love Story.”

The mother of the groom did two speeches – one in English, and the other in Russian.  They were hits!

Speaking of hits, Cosmic Groove got people out of their seats and into their dancing shoes.  Heather also had her friend from Florida, Thomas Gillman, snap photos throughout the entire event.

They weren’t the only photos being taken . . . .

Jessica and Shane

Sikora

Jessica and Shane had a beautiful wedding reception at the Sterling Inn.  From the moment the ceremony ended, the couple’s personal touch was sprinkled throughout the wonderful evening.

Was it the Star Wars cardboard character cutouts, lightsabers, and masks used as their props?

Or was it the singing by individuals instead of the toasts?

Could it have been when the sorority sisters encircled the bride and sang to her?

It may have been all of these put together that made this night a special one.  The happy couple were having such a great time amongst friends and family that our ShutterBooth host, Joe, had to make sure we caught some images of the two of them alone!  Congrats, Jessica and Shane!

Troy Athens Prom

2013.05.04.20.17.08.4 (2)

Troy Athens held their 2013 Prom at Andiamo in Warren.  Over five hundred students arrived to their enchantment theme evening.  The venue was decorated in silver, white and purple as chandeliers hung throughout the entire ballroom.  Tealight candles were delicately lighting the room.

ShutterBooth was taking so many pictures, that one chaperone had to start turning the students away during the dinner hour (they were forgetting to eat!).  Everyone enjoyed their delicious meals over great conversation between friends.  Afterwards, the couples made their way onto the large dance floor – where most of the students spent the rest of the evening.  Well, except for the few hundred students that kept making their way back to the our booth!

Sarah and John

Sara and John had an amazing wedding reception at Lovett Hall in Dearborn.  This celebration was going full-steam ahead from the very beginning.

It had an incredible venue, fantastic food, and plenty of entertainment.  Most of all, it had romance.  There was no doubting Sara and John’s love for each other, as we watched them interact throughout the evening.  During dinner, the couple sat at their very own small table, surrounded by rose petals.

ShutterBooth was not the only vendor in the room, as we were happy to meet Tyana from Ice Dreams Sculptures – she created an amazing swan sculpture in thirty minutes!  The guests were also groovin’ to the music of Mel Ball and the Colours, who kept the party going all night long.  Obviously, we were there to catch some memorable moments ourselves.

Victoria and Marty

2013.04.29.19.02.26.3 (2)

Victoria and Marty had a very special and intimate wedding at Longacre House in Farmington Hills.  Thirty guests gathered to celebrate the couple’s future together – a much anticipated evening since the couple has been together for eight happy years.

We were excited to see how Victoria and Marty used OPEN by ShutterBooth, with a beautiful library backdrop.  This was not the only time their unique personalities were represented throughout the event.  The bridal party was introduced to the Star Wars theme, and made a tunnel out of lit up Lightsabers for the bride and groom to make their entrance.  The guests gave them rave reviews.
