The Greater Detroit Chapter of the National Association for Catering and Events (Detroit NACE) will hold its annual “Wedding Trends” program on February 17 at the Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  The extremely popular event will feature acclaimed event designer Brit Bertino, a highly sought after speaker and nationally recognized expert on event trends. ShutterBooth is a major event sponsor.

“We are absolutely thrilled to bring Brit to Detroit for our February program,” says Detroit NACE President and ShutterBooth owner Mike Robins.  “It’s a great opportunity for local event professionals to see a leader on the national stage.  While our annual Wedding Trends meeting is typically our most popular of the year, we’ve never seen anything like the response we’ve seen for Brit.  I’m hopeful that we won’t run out of room!”  Robins expects more than 125 local event industry professionals to attend.

Ms. Bertino will present a program entitled “Hottest Trends in the Wedding Industry.”  She will not only cover the latest in design, décor and interactivity, but also focus on the impact same-sex weddings will have on the industry, in terms of both design and content.

In addition to Ms. Bertino’s presentation, the evening will feature open networking as well as dinner.  Food, décor and entertainment will be provided by a variety of local businesses, including Blumz, Chair Covers & Linens, Display Group, Event Source, Mike Staff Productions, ShutterBooth, Top That! Event and the Westin Book Cadillac.  All sponsors are current members of Detroit NACE.

“This meeting is a powerful demonstration of how highly engaged Detroit event professionals remain, “says Robins.  “The resurgence downtown is powered by lots of things, not the least of which is our ability to design and create memorable events – both in the social and corporate spaces.  Weddings are a great barometer for the health of the economy in general and, based on the interest in this year’s meeting, I’m expecting great things in 2016 and beyond.”
