Allyson & Matt — A ShutterStory

July 5, 2012

Every event we attend has a place in our office’s history, but this wedding holds a special place in the hearts of our ShutterTeam.

The bride, Allyson, worked with her groom at SB, so of course we had a booth on hand to capture memories (manned by Casey, the host who had trained Allyson seasons ago).  Here, we get his retelling of the wedding firsthand:

As guests trickled in, they mysteriously were each given a large sparkler with their table cards. They would find out shortly what they were for.

Allyson and Matt walked in and performed a lovely dance to “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” that eventually included all the members of the wedding party.  They also performed a duet in which they sang back and forth to each other, complete with adorable harmonies!

We were told why they had chosen a Thursday evening for their wedding. Turns out, it was the wedding anniversary (July 5th) of Allyson’s grandparents who had passed away. What a perfect way to honor them.

After classy speeches and a somber but celebratory prayer and dinner, we were treated to a short video depicting the wedding day complete with tears, humor and a behind the scenes peek into their preparation that day. Very well done!

Shortly after this, they walked across the parking lot to a cute little gazebo, with all of the wedding guests in tow, to have a “first dance” at dusk. The whole party was finally instructed to surround them in a circle and light their sparklers in celebration–quite a scene to see!

After that, the party was on! Steady stream of silliness in the booth, and some serious air-guitar to Bob Seger tunes! Tons of emotion and well-wishes, and soon enough, the clock struck midnight and the lovebirds were whisked away to rest and repare themselves for a sweet little honeymoon on Mackinac Island.

Great night. Great people.

A heartfelt congratulations to this special ShutterCouple!
