2011 – The year of the ShutterBooth

Well, Jaquelynn and I have complete our first year as ShutterBooth owners and what an exciting year 2010 was. We went from not even knowing about renting a photo booth for our own wedding, to falling in love with ShutterBooth the product and service, to falling in love with ShutterBooth the business.

We worked hard in 2010 to show as many people as possible the fun of ShutterBooth. From bridal shows to Norfolk Tides games, from Winterblast with The Eagle to going out to sea with the USS George HW Bush, tens of thousands of people got to see ShutterBooth, get their pictures taken, and take home a memento of their experience.

2011 looks to be even bigger and better for ShutterBooth. More people know about ShutterBooth and the fun it brings to their wedding, and we’ve gotten better at conveying to potential clients just how important the ShutterBooth experience is to their wedding. 2011 is booking up fast, don’t get left out on in the cold. Remember, you can book any photo booth, but it won’t be a ShutterBooth.

Things to look for from your ShutterBooth rental company.

Here at ShutterBooth, we get booked for weddings first, last, and everywhere in between. So no matter if you are getting married next week or next year, here are some things to look for in your ShutterBooth rental company.

Is it all they do?
ShutterBooth rentals have become all the rage all across the country. We can certainly see the trend increasing here in our Hampton Roads area. From the waterfront in Virginia Beach to the wine country in Charlottesville, ShutterBooth has made guests happy all across the Old Dominion. There were some competitors when we started a year ago, and there have been more pop up since we’ve started. ShutterBooth rentals are ALL WE DO! Some companies try do do it all for you, and that’s fine for them. They pride themselves on being the Walmart of Weddings. Walmart is great, but not for your wedding. Don’t go to a one stop shop, get an expert to handle your ShutterBooth experience. You can rest easy knowing that we aren’t worried about being the DJ, being the florist, being the planner, being the best man, being the caterer, being whatever. We are your go-to ShutterBooth guys, nothing more.

What does their ShutterBooth look like?
Photo Booth
Our booths are designed with your wedding in mind. We know that you wouldn’t want some cheesy looking photo booth at your wedding drawing attention and stares away from you. That is why we spent so much time designing the perfect ShutterBooth for your wedding. Our elegant, sleek ShutterBooth won’t stick out like a sore thumb. You’re taking a big gamble if you book a photo booth without seeing it first. Call us to set up an appointment to see the booth and see it for yourself.

How much ShutterBooth experience do they have?
This is a new industry, and everyone is trying to cash in on the fun we bring to your wedding. Everyone in Hampton Roads is new to the photo booth thing, but only one has the backing of a coast to coast company that has done thousands of events. With us, you get the best of both worlds, the personal service you expect from a mom and pop shop, but the backing and knowledge of the country’s leader in ShutterBooth rentals.

Who is going to be running the ShutterBooth?
At ShutterBooth, we are very selective about who we let host your wedding. Our hosts are cheerful and LOVE showing people the fun of ShutterBooth for the first time. Your host will be with you the whole way, from set up before your event, to take down after your event. They won’t be running back and forth from the DJ booth or trying to get that great shot of you and and your mother on the dance floor. Their only job is to provide your guests with the BEST ShutterBooth experience.

Can they get you online?
We have our own website, ShutterYou, to host all your pictures. Not just your ShutterBooth pictures, but your engagement photos, your bachelor/bachelorette party photos, the honeymoon, whatever milestone you choose to share with your guests, you can share with ShutterYou. They may have a generic site to host your photo booth pictures, but it won’t compare to a specifically designed website that aims to be the one stop shop for all your wedding pictures.

These are just a few of the questions you should be asking when choosing a ShutterBooth rental company for your most special day. Check back often for more tips.

Hampton Roads Bride Magazine – Sep 19th, 2010

We had a great time today at the bridal show at the Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront. We showed many future brides the fun of ShutterBooth. We made friends with Deb from The Water Table. She was excited to hear that we can fit our booth in her doors, and actually we’re looking forward to a wedding coming up there soon. We also sampled some watermelon-cucumber gazapacho from Catering Concepts and boy was it a flavorful explosion! A lot of watermelon, a hint of cucumber, and a whole lotta good. Of course we had a good time with Rex, Howard, Jeff, and Jim at Tidewater DJs. We talked business and a little personal stuff for us, as Rex is DJing our May 2011 wedding. Every time we meet with those guys, it reaffirms that we made the right choice for our own wedding, they fit our personality perfectly. All in all, it was a fun and productive day for the ShutterBooth Hampton Roads team. We love any chance we can to get to the Virginia Beach oceanfront.

Last, but not least, since we had so much fun, we picked 2 winners for our 25% off prize. Congratulations to Kristen C and Sarah P, we will be calling you tomorrow so we can work on your newly discounted ShutterBooth package.

Congrats to Andrea and Jared

According to the American Indian Legend, if anyone desires a wish to come true they must first capture a butterfly and whisper their wish to it. Since a butterfly can make no sound, the butterfly can not reveal the wish to anyone but the Great Spirit who hears and sees all. In gratitude for giving the beautiful butterfly its freedom, the Great Spirit always grants your wish.

Andrea and Jared’s wish must have been for a wonderful wedding day. There were butterflies everywhere, ready to do their duties as wish carriers.

Newport News Marriott at City Center was beautiful and DJ Taylor kept the crowd on it’s feet all night.

ShutterBooth was rocking all night as we all celebrated this beautiful day. Congrats again!

Making Dreams Come True

This past weekend, ShutterBooth was fortunate enough to be able to celebrate the union of Pamela and Jeremy at the Cavalier Oceanfront Hotel. The reception was held on the 11th floor and the entire ballroom overlooked the beach. It was a beautiful evening filled with great music, family and friends, an amazing view of the ocean, and Pamela and Jeremy celebrating their love for one another.
After the event, the brides mother sent us this quick, yet very heartfelt message: You are the BEST Jaquelynn; thanks for making a dream wedding come true! Mabel
Another job well done for the ShutterBooth Hampton Roads team!

Out to sea on the USS George HW Bush

ShutterBooth Hampton Roads will be the first ShutterBooth to go out to sea with an aircraft carrier on May 1st as we bring our fun to the USS George HW Bush Friends and Family Day Cruise. We’ll have lots of pictures on our Facebook page sometime Sunday.

Busy day for the ShutterBooth Hampton Roads team 3/22/10

What a long, great day of photo boothing here in Hampton Roads. We started the day off early at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, which holds a special place for us because we’ll be getting married there next year. The bridal show was in the Rose Garden Hall, which is the same room we’ll have our reception. We were very honored to be a part of an exclusive bridal show with so many great vendors. Carolina Cupcakery is one of our favorites, so much so that they are providing desert for our wedding. We also got to catch up with our friends at Sweetwater Cuisine. They had a delicious gourmet BLT appetizer that held us over until we could hit the road for our next event.

After the bridal show ended, we fought the traffic to cross over to the peninsula and set up at Eagle 97′s Winterblast 2010. We had the biggest line we had ever witnessed for our ShutterBooth and out in the concourse we got to listen to some great country artists, headlined by Jake Owen.

It was a long day, but we got to show off our great product and service to a ton of people and got a great response.
