Let There Be Peace

ShutterBooth was really excited to be at the Pizza Party for the Youth Choir that is performing at the Ohio State Fair. Thanks to our host, John, we were able to spend the night with the Choir as they enjoyed pizza and a little dancing as a break for all their hard work preparing for the fair shows. It was a great time, not only did everyone love it, but we also decided to donate a booth for the alumni auction! Thanks John for inviting us to be a part of such a great time!

Picture Yourself with Sprenger

We participated in a two day trade show with Sprenger Health Care at the Columbus Convention Center, we were the entertainment that they offered everyone that visited their booth. It was really a  great experience, not only to be there with Sprenger, but to hear about the great things that they have to offer and to learn about their family- owned and family-run business. A cornerstone of the Sprenger philosophy is that they have and obligation to make the community a better place. It was truly a joy to spend two days with them. It also opened our eyes to yet another market! I was able to talk to so many different facilities that we should reach out to, not only for company parties but for different types employee appreciation. I really enjoyed my time with the company and meeting all of the people in the industry, and only hope that we are able to join them again!

Shuttering in Chicago

That’s right, we are headed to the windy city to join the Chicago ShutterBooth for the Willow Creek Church’s Mother’s Day Celebration. We love Chicago! so it was no problem convincing us to bring 4 booths and employees to join Chicago ShutterBooth in this celebration, totaling 10 booths for two days! We are even bringing “Mom” Legree to join two of her sons and her daughter-in-law for the Mother’s Day Celebration! Stay tuned to Chicago’s ShutterYou for the photos!

A Visit to the Darby House

On Tuesday night Brian and I went to the Darby House for an open house. We were really excited because we haven’t been there yet, keep hearing how incredible it is and we have a couple of events there! So a sneak peak was certainly welcome! And I have to say, it was incredible! Cameron Mitchell is now doing all of the catering, so the food was amazing and the atmosphere was breath taking. We had the opportunity to check out every room set up how it would be for a reception, business meeting and picnic. The outside was even set up with tables, lounging seats and an outdoor chef making kabobs-  it was right on the water and beautiful. It is for sure a space that has a destination feel in Ohio. Definitely high on the recommendation list!

New Shutter Family Member

Did you know that what we used to call a PlayPen is no longer called that? It is now a Pak and Play. I only know that because I just bought one hoping to contain the energy of our new puppy, Archie!! He is in love with our other two dogs, Eli and Blaze, although they aren’t too sure about him yet…. I’m sure they will be “bestys” in no time!Archie

Cakes For A Cause

As event professionals, our job often involves feeding people or working on events where food is involved – now we are coming together to help feed those less fortunate than us through the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and Operation Feed! Please join us on March 23, 2010 at 6 pm for Cakes For A Cause.  It’s going to be an evening of mixing and mingling with great food from local caterers all highlighted by a fantastic auction featuring the best and brightest cake designers and bakers along with other fantastically generous companies in the Columbus area.

We are pleased to be a part of several groups that are sponsering this fantastic event: NACE (National Association of Catering Executives), ISES (International Special Events Society), WPC (Wedding Professionals of Columbus).
