“The Power of Pink” Fundraiser at Chicago’s Hard Rock Hotel

2010.10.07.23.04.07

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Shutterbooth was proud to partner with Bright Pink and provide a photobooth for their “Power of Pink” fundraiser at the Hard Rock Hotel last month. The event was a private cocktail reception and was hosted by some of Chicago’s boldest & brightest, including our friend Jessica Zweig from Cheeky and Kelli Zink from celebtv.com. Attendees enjoyed snapping photos in the photobooth throughout the event, while sipping on Grey Goose cocktails and Coors Light Beers.

You can view all the Shutterbooth photos taken throughout the night online here at Shutteryou.com.

Special thanks to Lindsey Avner and Leah Drew for all of their work and dedication in spreading both breast and ovarian cancer awareness through Bring Pink. It’s an honor to participate in such a great cause! For more information on how you can help Bright Pink’s mission, please visit their website at www.bebrightpink.org.

Shutterbooth’s photo booths are a huge hit at charity fundraisers, black-tie events, and other social parties. Contact us to discuss how we can incorporate a photobooth into your next event!

Tails in the City Anniversary Party

tailsinthecityIt’s official- dogs love the ShutterBooth!

Last Friday we partnered with the owners of  Tails in the City {a luxury pet boutique in Chicago} to celebrate their 6th Anniversary! This “Canine Chic” event was not only a celebration, but also a fundraiser as all proceeds were given to the Anti-Cruelty Society of Chicago.

The party was held at LEVEL nightclub in the heart of downtown Chicago. Party goers and their pups were treated to drinks and food and their were plenty of doggy activities to take part in! Pups were pampered with doggy spa treatments, energy healings, and a great variety of gourment treats and biscuits. Owners were able to snap photos with their four legged friends in the photo booth or have their portrait drawn by a caricaturist.

Attendees were also able to enter their dogs in a modeling contest! Dogs of all shapes and sizes entered for their chance to win. Photos are posted on the Tails in the City Blog, where you can view the contestants and vote for your favorite. Voting ends Friday May 21 so be sure to check it out!

In order to help spread awareness for the Anti-Cruelty Society, we used our booth’s external monitor to play a slideshow of all the dogs that are currently available for options. We hope a few dog lovers with open hearts found a new best friend as a result, as we’d love to see them all get new homes soon!

Mother’s Day at Willow Creek

Shutterbooth had the pleasure of working with Willow Creek Community Church again this year for their Mother’s Day weekend services!

Willow Creek is a huge community and holds 3 services every weekend. For Mother’s Day, we provided ten photo booths scattered throughout their main campus so they were available for family photos. It was a wonderful opportunity for the moms and families to take fun pictures & create memories with their children.

The Shutterbooth was PACKED before and after each service on both days with families lined up to snap photos in the booth. By the end of day Sunday over 7,684 family photos were taken! 1900+ photostrips have been posted to ShutterYou galleries and are available for download or to purchase additional prints.

We hope everyone at Willow Creek had a wonderful Mother’s Day and their photostrips provide memories for years to come. It was an honor and pleasure to work with you again!

May is a very busy time of year with the start of wedding and prom season, so a very special “thank you” to Anthony, Brian, Shari, and Linda; who traveled from Milwaukee and Columbus to bring additional photo booths and help out for the weekend! We couldn’t have done it without you!

Beth & Nick {Part #1}

2010.04.18.15.57.16Beth & Nick were the first “wedding wish” recipients from the Chicago chapter of “Wish Upon a Wedding” {a national wedding wish granting charity. You can view the video of Beth & Nick’s heartfelt story on I Do Film’s blog.}

This past Sunday was an absolutely beautiful and sunny spring day here in the midwest. It was also Beth & Nick’s wedding day!

I had both the honor and privilege of celebrating with this wonderful and deserving couple. Their wedding day was filled with tremendous love, laughter, and a few tears. I am still in awe of their kind, warm spirit and concern for others. I believe I not only speak for myself, but for the other vendors who worked together to make this day happen when I say that words cannot express the love Beth and Nick have for each other.

More details {and photos!} to be posted soon, in the meantime enjoy the photobooth shot of Nick & Beth at their reception!

Congratulations to Beth and Nick! Thank you for letting us celebrate with you. You have touched our lives and hearts forever.

Wish Upon A Wedding Launch Party

2010.03.24.20.00.42ShutterBooth had the pleasure of providing a photobooth for the recent “Wish Upon A Wedding” Launch Party in Chicago. The event was a huge  success and the Ravenswood Event Center was packed with wedding vendors, event planners, and clients who all gathered to celebrate the launch and future success of this wonderful organization. Wedding planners Ali Phillips {Engaging Events by Ali} and Melissa Phillips {Simply Perfect by Melissa} worked hard to put together this wonderful event and it was a huge hit!

In addition to snapping photobooth pictures in the ShutterBooth, attendees tasted cuisine by Blue Plate, The Hearty Boys, and D’Absolute Catering. Take the Cake provided delicious cupcakes and designed a beautiful cake that matched the theme and decor of the event (in Wish Upon a Wedding’s signature colors). The fabulous fabric draping and perfect blue uplights were the vision and design of Deborah from Art of Imagination.

The highlight of the evening was having the opportunity to meet Chicago’s first wish recipients, Beth & Nick {pictured on the left} who attended the event with their families {ShutterBooth is looking forward to providing a photobooth for their wedding this month!} The crowd went silent when Matt from I Do Films previewed an incredibly touching video of their story {you can view the video on their blog here}. There was certainly not a dry eye in the room; their story left many with a mix of emotions yet inspired to contribute to this wonderful organization.

The Chicago launch of Wish Upon A Wedding was a huge success! We are looking forward to helping Beth & Nick celebrate this month and hope to work with the Chicago chapter to grant more wedding wishes soon.

If you missed the party, you can view a short video recap {courtesy of I Do Films} and listen to the message from Ali Phillips here.

ShutterBooth is excited to be partnering with Imerman Angels again for their upcoming “Spring Fling” at Enclave. This is going to be an awesome event {for an incredible cause!} so we encourage everyone to get tickets and join us for the fun! We provided a booth and helped sponsor their recent holiday part at the Mid America Club and we were impressed by not only the tremendous outpouring of support for the organization, but by how much FUN everyone had at the event! The party was completely sold out and the venue was packed with hundreds of supporters.

The upcoming Spring Fling will take place on Thursday, March 18th at Enclave from 7:00pm – 11:00pm. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door. You can purchase your tickets online here.

If you aren’t familiar with Imerman Angels, they are a nonprofit based in Chicago that was started by cancer survivor Johnny Imerman. They connect a “person fighting cancer today with someone who has beaten the same type of cancer. The relationship provides a fighter the opportunity to ask personal questions and receive encouragement from someone who is uniquely familiar with the situation. The relationship provides the survivor the opportunity to personally help a fighter as he or she battles the disease.”[from Imerman Angels website] They connect survivors and fighter from all over the world.

Girls in the Game “Field of Dreams” Anniversary Gala at the Marriott

Last 2010.02.25.21.08.38week we had the pleasure of providing a ShutterBooth for the Girls in the Game 15th Anniversary Gala. This year’s fund raising event was held at the Marriott Magnificent Mile and we were excited to be a sponsor for such a great organization!

Girls in the Game is a local nonprofit whose mission is to provide and promote sports & fitness opportunites, nutrion & health education, and leadership developement to enhance the overall health and well-being of girls. They have partnerships with the Chicago Park District and Chicago Public schools and they run programs at Union Park and various other parks and schools throughout Chicagoland.

Attendees of the event were treated to dinner & cocktails, photobooth photos, and a raffle and silent auction. After dinner they presented a program celebrating champions reflecting the four pillars of Girls in the Game’s mission: Sports, Health, Leadership, and Life. Sarah Reinersten was the guest honor for the event – she is an American athlete and motivational speaker. She was the first female leg amputee to complete the Ironman Traithlon World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. Check out her story – she is quite an inspiration!

Everyone had a blast in the ShutterBooth – be sure to check out the photos in the ShutterYou gallery.

**One of my favorite photos of the night (posted to the left) is a huge group of women from the Chicago Force! The Chicago Force is Chicago’s Professional Woman’s Football Team. They are quite a group – last year they made it to the playoffs and were the 2008 Eastern Conference Champions.
