Love That Will Last: Tips For A Lasting Marriage

Lasting Marriage

Love That Will Last: Tips For A Lasting Marriage

Newly weds dream of happily ever afters, white picket fences, kids, the works. It is a life built on dreams, until reality sets in. What is the secret to a healthy, happy, lasting marriage? Albuquerque Shutterbooth divulges some of the best advice for newly weds from those who have tied the knot and are still madly in love years after the “I dos.”

1. Compromise when you can, but do not make one you cannot live with later.

Meeting half way is a healthy practice in any relationship. However, the one thing you never want to do is make a compromise that has time limits within your marriage. If it is not something you can commit to for the foreseeable future, or the ‘long haul’, odds are it is not a commitment you need to be making.

2. Keep your love alive by making time for a date every week.

Time grows exceedingly precious in the course of a marriage.  Do not let lack of funds keep you from keeping your love alive.  Walks in the park or along the beach are just as meaningful as a candlelit dinner for two!

3. Do not take your partner for granted.

Take a minute every day to appreciate your husband or wife. Be sure to let him or her know just how lucky you are to have him or her by your side! Never stop thanking taking time to appreciate your partner and always say “I love you.”

Be Mine: Valentine’s Day Wedding Trends

Romantic Valentine's Day Wedding Trends

Be Mine: Valentine’s Day Wedding Trends

Demonstrate your love with a Valentine’s Day wedding! Capture the spirit of love this Valentine’s day! Express your love by setting the mood, say be mine with some romantic Valentine’s Day wedding trends.

Splashes of Pink and Red

Pink and red are a class act for this sweet holiday. However, these sweet shades do not need to take center stage. You can still have that romantic feeling with the application of black or white.  Hints of luscious reds along with rosy pinks  in the floral, favors, party attire, as well as decorum can still capture the mood.

Give Them Some Sugar

Spread the love by giving your guests some sugar. Candy bars dripping with chocolate fondue to tasty, sugar coated love notes can make for a sweet treat that they are sure to love.  Of course, sugar does not have to be of the sweet tasting variety. Handwritten notes with expressions of your heartfelt appreciation can make for some tender wedding favors.

Serenade Them

Set the mood with some classic, fun, romantic love songs. If you want to add a little touch of something sentimental, allot certain hours of time for song requests. You could even incorporate some of their tender memories by requesting them to write the name of the song that made up their first dance, or perhaps a song that represents their view of love to make for some heart warming song selections!

Sentimental Moments

Add some lovable, endearing aspects to your big day.  Say kissable, with props like a kissing booth for a perfect Valentine’s Day photo opp!

New Year Alternatives 2017: Goodbye Resolutions

New Year Alternatives 2017

New Year Alternatives 2017: Goodbye Resolutions

Why not embrace some new year alternatives in 2017? Let’s face it, waking up January 1st, you woke up the same person. Say goodbye to the practice of making resolutions alternatives to start this year as a better year with some fresh perspective.

1. Make A Commitment To Someone

While there is nothing wrong with self improvement, it is not uncommon for new year resolutions to be self-focused. Turning that focus outward and committing some real time as well as energy to someone else can make a real difference.

2. Highlight Your Strengths and Talents

Instead of focusing on your short comings along with areas you feel you can improve upon, why not take some time to nurture the areas where you show potential?

3.  Make New Year Intentions In Place of Resolutions

Goals and ambitions are great to have. However, when you do not obtain the desired outcome it can be  a real drag.  In place of pushing yourself to lose 10 or more pounds over the next year, you can have the intention of adopting a more healthy outlook on life. It is all about your approach.

4. Make A Gratitude List

Reflecting on the previous year we tend to look at what went wrong so we can try to improve upon it. Rather than doing this, consider taking a different approach. When you look back on 2016 look for the positive.

5.  Chose A Word To Focus On

Take a word that reflects the kind of person you want to be and apply it to your daily life. Make this word the center of your universe.

Popular Photography Practices: Photo Booths

 Popular Photography Practices

One of today’s Popular Photography Practices are Photo Booths! They seem to be on the rise! They continue to capture our most precious moments after nearly a century despite the popularity of ‘photo friendly’ apps. What makes the use of photo booths so popular? Albuquerque Shutterbooth goes behind the lens to find out!

Popular Photography Practices: Photo Booths Then

An old fashioned Photo Booth

Popular Photography Practices: Photo Booths Now

A modern day Photo Booth compliments of Albuquerque Shutterbooth

A Little Photo History

Where did the use of the photo booth begin? There is likely nothing more magical, timeless, or classic than a beginning on Broadway! In 1925 Siberian immigrant, Anatol Josepho, introduced the Photomaton.

The photo booth had its first taste of popularity in 1953 when Hollywood star, Fred Astaire, sat for a photo! It has become an increasingly popular photography practice since!

Why The Buzz?

What makes photo booths all the rage in a world where snap chat and Instagram thrive? Well…

  • Intimacy – Photo booths create an intimate space. Couples, friends, and even groups find themselves having to get close for the picture perfect photo op.
  • Instant Access – Photos taken in a photo booth allow participators to receive their photographs immediately following the experience. There is no wait! There is no hour to several hours long way for film development.
Instant hard copy photography

Immediate photography prints are available after each photo booth session!

  • Timeless – This generation as well as previous generations can enjoy all the joy photo booths have to offer. It is an experience for all ages!

Holiday Blues: Holiday Survival Guide

Holiday Blues: Holiday Survival Guide

Not sure how you will survive the holidays? Got a case of the holiday blues? Dr. Holiday is in the house! Albuquerque Shutter Booth presents a Holiday Blues: Holiday Survival Guide that will see you through this busy time of year.

Holiday Blues

When you have the blues trying to get into the spirit can make even the brightest of reds look blue.

How To Survive The Holidays

Whether it is decorating, buying gifts, holiday parties,  or dinners here are some simple guidelines to make the holidays bright.

  1. Be flexible with your holiday decorations.  Do not focus your efforts on holiday decorum specifically designed for just any one holiday.  When putting together your holiday decorations try to incorporate items that can be used the whole year round. Glass candle holders, jars, or unscented electric candles can be perfect for any occasion  with the application of ribbons and brightly colored candies as well as beads!
  2. Escape when you can. When attendance over the holidays becomes mandatory or feels like an obligation arrive early enough to make yourself comfortable. Stay long enough to catch up and after making an appearance, excuse yourself. Making small talk and saving face sometimes is just enough to make a friend, family member, or co-worker happy.
  3. Keep the spirit of giving alive by making a list to help you organize your holiday shopping list.  When you are thinking of starting your holiday shopping, make a list of people you know. Next to them write what you want to get them. If you are not sure, write down some of their hobbies or interests.

A Picture Of Life and Death: The Origins Of Halloween Colors

A Picture Of Life and Death: The Origins Of Halloween Colors

Two colors immediately come to mind at the reference of Halloween. Those colors are none other than orange and black. What is the significance of these colors in regards of Hallow’s Eve? That is the question Albuquerque Shutterbooth is eager to unearth!

It’s A Monster Masterpiece

Orange, black, red, green, to even purples have been seen gracing the doorsteps of various Halloween celebrators. Every color has its own ghastly meaning.

Regarded as a color of life, bounty, strength, as well as endurance orange celebrates the Autumn Harvest.

As Halloween is regarded as a holiday in which honors the dead, black is often associated with darkness and death.

Gore would not be gore without the crimson red color of blood. Vampire have become quite the spectacle since Stoker’s “Dracula” hit the shelves and film. Red could not be more menacing!

Everything slimy, gross, ectoplasmic, or ghoulish is drearily green! A monster would not have the proper complexion without a grotesquely green face!

The mysterious, the unexplained, and the supernatural are all summed up in this royally spooktacular color! Purple is the perfect halloween color if you are looking to cast a spell!

 Would You Believe?

Light is to dark as yin is to yang. Would you believe it if you were told that orange and black are indeed opposites? Orange is a color that reflects the beauty of life during the harvest season. Whereas black, on the other hand, is a bleak hue that is familiarized with death, evil spirits, well as the underworld.
